France 2022: Alvan & Ahez to represent France with “Fulenn”

Last Saturday, the French broadcaster France 2 held their selection for the next edition for the European music festival, Eurovision Song Contest 2022, called C’est vous qui décidez!

12 entries had the opportunity to perform on stage, and the winner was selected over two rounds of voting, going to the final voting six entries: Soa with their song “Seule”; Marius with his song “Les Chansons d’Amour”; Alvan & Ahez with their song “Fuleen”; Cyprien Zéni with his song “Ma Familie”; Pauline Chagne with her song “Nuit Pauline”; and Elliot with his song “La Tempête”.

Finally, the winner of the selection was Alan & Ahez, with 102 points from juries and 120 from televote, doing a total of 222 points, with a difference of 50 points between they and the second classified, Pauline Chagne and her song “Nuit Pauline”.

But who are Alvan & Ahez? Alvan is a famous singer in the electro scene, and Ahez is a group composed of Marine Lavigne, Sterenn Diridollou and Sterenn Le Guillou. Known for performing Breton traditional heritage songs. After they selection, started a discussion on social networks, because they compare Alvan & Ahez with the Spanish participant of Benidorm Fest, Tanxugueiras, a girl group that are known in their country for performing Galician traditional heritage songs.
